CV:
Ms Cheah Sheau Lan is an active volunteer in the social service sector for the last 10 years. She currently sits on the Board of Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities Ltd, Thye Hua Kwan Nursing Home Ltd and the Tsao Foundation. She also serves as a member in the Audit Committee of Singhealth Fund Limited, and the Committee for Humanitarian Assistance and International Relief of the Singapore Red Cross Society.
In her corporate life, Ms Cheah worked extensively in the areas of investments, business acquisitions and project implementations, as well as corporate developments. She started work as an operational consultant in an international public accounting firm and moved on to a local conglomerate, spearheading a group company’s business expansion in the South East Asian and Indochina regions. She also spent many years with a private equity firm, actively involved in deal making, investment management and divestments. Her last employment, before retiring to pursue her personal interests, was with a publicly listed company on the Singapore Stock Exchange, as the General Manager for Corporate Development.
Ms Cheah holds a Bachelor Degree in Accountancy (First Class Honours) and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore. She also attended an executive management course at the University of Michigan Business School in Ann Arbor, USA.
She is a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and holds an Executive Diploma in Directorship conferred jointly by the Singapore Institute of Directors and Singapore Management University.
