THK Children Therapy Centres are located in the heart of 2 major neighbourhoods in Singapore – Queenstown and MacPherson. Each centre is equipped with a sensory-integration gym as well as therapy rooms for occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech language therapy.

Our therapists are dedicated and experienced in providing assessment and therapy for children with developmental issues, learning difficulties and physical disabilities from the ages of 0 to 18 years. These include children with, but not limited to:

How can speech language therapists help my child?
A speech language therapist (SLT) works with anyone with communication and feeding difficulties. Click here to learn more about speech language therapists.

Our SLTs are able to assess, diagnose and treat the difficulties in the following areas (click on each topic to find out more):

• Language understanding and expression (e.g. following instructions, telling stories, explaining thoughts and feelings)
• Speech production (e.g. unclear pronunciation)
• Voice use (e.g. a hoarse voice from excessive shouting)
• Stuttering (also known as stammering)
• Feeding and swallowing (e.g. picky eaters, chewing delay, dysphagia)
• Social skills (i.e. social communication)

How can occupational therapists help my child?
An occupational therapist (OT) works with and supports children with a range of difficulties to participate fully in school and social situations.

Our OT is qualified to assess, diagnose, and treat children with underlying motor, sensory, social, emotional and behavioural challenges and functional difficulties in the following areas;

• Self-help skills (e.g. toileting, eating, drinking, getting dressed, taking a shower, brushing teeth)
• Play skills
• Social skills
• Writing
• Self-regulation
• Emotional regulation
• Sensory system
• Postural motor control

How can physiotherapists help my child?
A physiotherapist (PT) works with children with neurological, orthopaedic and developmental disorders by promoting their gross motor development and working with the family to address the needs of the child. Our PT is qualified to assess and treat children with the following conditions:

• Gross Motor Delay Global Developmental Delay
• Congenital Orthopaedic conditions (e.g. torticollis, clubfoot, Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip)
• Cerebral Palsy
• Muscular Dystrophy
• Acquired/Traumatic Brain Injury
• Genetic conditions (e.g. West Syndrome, Down Syndrome)
