COVID-19 Resilience Certificate

All THK Homes for Disabled, THK Seniors Group Homes, THK Pan-Disability Centre @ Eunos and THK Autism Centre @ Geylang Bahru received the COVID-19 Resilience Certificate on 22 November 2024 for exhibiting exceptional ingenuity in ensuring uninterrupted essential services throughout the pandemic.

Charity Transparency Award 2024

THKMC has been awarded the Charity Transparency Award for the third consecutive year. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to transparency, and governance, which aligns to the Code of Governance for Charities and Institutions of a Public Character.

Progressive Wage (PW) Mark

THKMC obtained the Progressive Wage Mark by the Ministry of Manpower. This recognition places us among the top 50 Social Service Agencies (SSAs) in Singapore – highlighting our commitment to fair, sustainable, and inclusive employment practices.  

2024 Healthy Ageing Prize for Asian Innovation Winner

THK Seniors’ Community Services’ Micro-jobs programmes was awarded by Japan Centre for International Exchange as a second prize winner in community-based initiatives for the 2024 Healthy Ageing Prize for Asian Innovation. 

Family Service Centre Commendation Award

THK Family Service Centre @ Bedok North’s Senior Social Worker Melissa Ong received the inaugural Family Service Centre Commendation Award, presented by Ministry of Social and Family Development.

Nurses Merit Award 2024

THK Seniors’ Community Services, Assistant Nurse Manager Norsila Binte Hamid, received the prestigious Nurses’ Merit Award from the Ministry of Health.

Green Mark Accredited Professional (GMAP) Certification

As part of THKMC’s continued commitment and effort towards sustainability, Heads of our three THK Homes for Disabled achieved the Green Mark Accredited Professional Certification with BCA Academy.

Charity Transparency Award 2023

THKMC was honoured with the Charity Transparency Award at the Charity Transparency and Governance Awards Ceremony at the Suntec Convention Centre. The Charity Transparency Award, an initiative of the Charity Council, recognises charities that have adopted good transparency and governance status.

6th ASEAN Rural Development and Poverty Eradication Leadership Award

THKMC received the 6th ASEAN Rural Development and Poverty Eradication (RDPE) Leadership Award at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre. The ASEAN RDPE Leadership Award acknowledges the significant contributions of non-governmental organisations, social service organisations, and the corporate sector across the ASEAN member Member States (AMSes).

President’s Volunteerism and Philanthropy Award

Mr Tan Chuan Kwang, a volunteer at THK Active Ageing Centre (AAC) @ Ang Mo Kio 208, received a Certificate of Appreciation from the President’s Volunteerism and Philanthropy Awards 2023 team. The award recognises individuals and groups that have achieved excellence in giving. It represents the highest honour for giving in the community and is conferred by the President of the Republic of Singapore.

Friends of Boon Lay Garden Primary School (BLGPS) Award – THK Family Service Centre @ Jurong

THK Family Service Centre @ Jurong received the Friends of BLGPS Award 2023 from Boon Lay Garden Primary School.

Singapore Food Agency Association

Knead with Love Bakery Consultancy at THK Pan-Disability @ Eunos obtained Singapore Food Agency Certification and is now Halal certified. Our social enterprise helps our beneficiaries learn skills for employment. So far, three graduated trainees from our Knead with Love Bakery have successfully been placed under open employment.

National Association of Child Contact Centres (NACCC) re-accreditation

Strengthening Families Programme@FSC (Thye Hua Kwan CFH – Commonwealth) received the National Association of Child Contact Centres (NACCC) re-accreditation. Adhering to the National Standards, an intricate and comprehensive set of benchmarks, is a prerequisite for maintaining NACCC Membership and Accreditation. These standards are designed to guarantee that child contact services provide a secure and effective environment, allowing children to foster safe and meaningful relationships with individuals they do not reside with or frequently engage with.

bizSAFE3 Certification

THKMC received the bizSAFE3 certification, which certifies that THKMC has risk management, workplace safety and health capabilities in place, and is compliant.

SG Clean Quality Mark

THK Home for Disabled @ Sembawang and THK Home for Disabled @ Eunos attained the SG Clean Quality Mark, granted to organisations that meet the basic standards of good industry practices.

South View Primary School Partners Award

Ms Ivy Chew, Head of Department (Transition Support) of THK EIPIC Centre @ Choa Chu Kang, received the Partners Award. This recognition acknowledges the centre’s partnership with the school, highlighted by the implementation of the transition program and a co-learning journey in early January 2022.

NUS Social Work Field Education Award

THKMC received the NUS Social Work Field Education Award for providing field education to NUS Social Work students for the past 5 years.

Friends of MSF Awards and MSF Community Cares Award

THKMC received four awards from the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) – the Friends of MSF Award to THK Disability Services, THK Family Service Centre @ Jurong, and to Ms Low Hwee San (Divisional Director, Early Intervention for Children Services); as well as the MSF Community Cares Award to THK Family Service Centre @ MacPherson, in recognition of our contributions to nurture and improve lives in the Singapore community

Family Violence Dialogued Group (FVDG) Appreciation Awards

Principal Social Worker, Ben Ang Jingyou, from THK Family Service Centre @ Bedok North received the Family Violence Dialogued Group (FVDG) Appreciation Awards at the National Family Violence Networking System Conference. This is a recognition of the team’s contributions in managing family support cases through support groups that help men repair their relationships and regulate their emotions.

Community Care Excellence Awards

THK Elderly and Home Care Services received two Gold Community Care Excellence Awards (CECA) 2022 in the Productivity Improvement and Clinical Improvement categories. These awards acknowledge outstanding quality improvement projects and initiatives implemented in community care organisations.

Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP)

THKMC is the first Social Service Agency (SSA) to achieve nine tripartite standards under TAFEP. Employers who have adopted the Tripartite Standards are committed to build a better work environment for their employees. Known as TS adopters, these employers are recognised for having good employment practices that meet the requirements of the Tripartite Standards, and are employers of choice to the employees.s that have adopted good transparency and governance status.

Outstanding Early Intervention Professional Commendation Award

Ivy Chew, Head of Department of THK EIPIC Centre: Development Support (DS) Plus Programme, received the Outstanding Early Intervention Professional Commendation Award in ECDA Awards for Excellence in Early Childhood Development 2021. The award recognises the achievements of exemplary infant educators and early years educators who expand the boundaries of professionalism and scale up the quality of their curriculum and pedagogical practices.

Outstanding Social Worker Award

Dr Katijah Dawood, Senior Divisional Director of THK Family Services, received the Outstanding Social Worker Award. The Outstanding Social Worker Award (OSWA) is the highest award to social workers conferred by the President of the Republic of Singapore. It aims to recognise the outstanding contributions made by dedicated social workers in Singapore. The award acknowledges their passion and professional contributions to the improvement of the social service and healthcare sectors.

National Healthcare Innovation & Productivity Excellence Champion Medal – THK Home Care Services

THK Home Care Services has secured the prestigious National Healthcare Innovation & Productivity (NHIP) Excellence Champion Medal, marking a historic achievement as the first Social and Welfare Organization to receive this recognition. THK Home Care Services Division successfully redesigned the care and service teams across five key care programmes to improve services for clients. Leveraging digital technology, the initiative involved cross-training staff, substantially enhancing their capabilities, and facilitating flexible manpower deployment, especially crucial during the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
